Hello scouts, parents and family members of Pack 1545—welcome back!  I hope your summer was fun and filled with exciting adventures, challenging learning experiences, and memorable family vacations.

We have already started the 2012 Cub Scout Pack 1545 year with really cool den meetings and our first pack meeting will be on September 27th in the Rolling Valley Elementary School Cafeteria.  You can expect to receive a lot of helpful information at that pack meeting;  we will have applications and other paperwork to fill out, we will see pictures of our scouts’ summer activities, and we will have fun!  We will also talk about this year’s Popcorn fundraiser campaign  (which is already off to a tremendous start!) and we will discuss our upcoming Fall 2012 Pack Camp-out.

This year’s fall camp out will be held at Pohick Bay Campground on October 13 and 14, so mark your calendars and start getting ready for some outdoor adventures and fun!

September’s Cub Scout theme is “Cooperation” and, as you can see, it is that spirit of cooperation that is already making this year a great one for Pack 1545.  Thanks to our webmaster we have this updated website.  Thanks to our den leaders our den programs have taken flight at tremendous speed.  Special thanks and welcome to our newest den leader, who has volunteered to lead the mighty Tigers this year!  And our “Popcorn Kernel” has launched a fundraising effort that is already setting records.   All of this success is driven by the voluntary efforts of parents and scouts alike.  And we need more help--we have more opportunities for all who are interested. I will post those positions at the pack meeting.

Yours in Scouting,

Paul T.
